What are District Councils?
District Councils are elected positions, created by the Chicago City Council after years of activism to make policing more responsive to community needs. Each of Chicago’s 22 police districts is represented by three District Council members. District Council members serve as neighborhood ambassadors to give our community a voice in public safety and policing.

The 19th District is large—spanning from Fullerton to Lawrence, and from the Chicago River to Lake Michigan.

We know that not every neighborhood will have the same public safety needs and concerns. We will work diligently to ensure all voices of our district are heard, as we strive to serve all community members and residents of Chicago's 19th Police District, in all its vibrant diversity.
